Before you start

Linux

The packages are built on Ubuntu 22.04, which sets the oldest system they run on; anything newer is fine. Both need WebKitGTK, which most desktops already have — on Debian and Ubuntu it is libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0, and the .deb will ask for it if it is missing.

Windows

Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The installer does not need an administrator, because it installs for you rather than for the whole machine. Windows may warn you about an unrecognised publisher: the application is not yet code-signed, and the checksum above is how to satisfy yourself the file is the one published here.

macOS

There is no Mac build. It is not a port that is nearly finished — nothing is built for macOS today, and saying otherwise would waste your time.

Checking the download

Open the SHA-256 beside any file and compare it with your own copy: sha256sum <file> on Linux, or Get-FileHash <file> in PowerShell. They should match exactly.

Then what

Your manuscript lives in a folder you choose, so backing it up is copying a folder. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account. Everything Narraloom does is the longer answer.
